Hello and welcome to the website for Dr. Mary Lee-Lau, Clinical Psychologist.

Did you know that it is not uncommon for people to wait six months or more before
seeking professional psychological help when it comes to work and life stress,
mental health concerns and relationship issues?

Most people hope the problem will resolve itself and sometimes it does.  When it
doesn't however, and you find yourself feeling worse (i.e. depressed or anxious),
and if the problem begins to impact your work or relationships, then counseling or
psychotherapy should be considered a good option for dealing with whatever is
negatively affecting your life.

Why seek psychotherapy or counseling?
At some point in our lives, each of us will face situations that become emotionally
overwhelming and difficult to handle.  Talking to a psychologist in therapy is often
helpful in addressing and resolving these challenges.  It gives you the opportunity to
speak openly and honestly about your concerns, feelings, behaviors, and outlook on
life.

A psychologist is non-judgmental and provides a safe, supportive, and private
environment in which you can talk and ultimately develop some clarity about yourself.
The benefits of therapy also include learning new ways to cope, greater adaptability
to life in general, and most importantly, you feel better about yourself!
Something to think
about...

Let your heart soar,
not your heart rate.
